Four former Springbok Captains! All RWC Winners! All British & Irish Lions slayers! All Tri-Nations winners! All with over 100 test caps for their country! 

 

So, a whole lot of test rugby experience and acumen in those boots, which has earned them the right to comment and discuss the state of Springbok rugby as the double RWC winning Springbok squad under Rassie Erasmus heads into a challenging season, which includes two home tests against Ireland and the All Blacks and a tough year-end European tour.

 

But John Smit, Schalk Burger, Victor Matfield and Jean de Villiers don’t just bring plenty of rugby wisdom and knowledge to this Mondi business breakfast in Cape Town in April. We have hosted the four at a few breakfasts in Johannebsurg over the past four years and the chemistry, confidence, banter and anecdotes (the Bakkies stories are worth the table cost alone!) up on stage between four true Springbok legends, makes it a rugby morning to enjoy and cherish.   

 

AND, we are adding an extra bit of fight to the morning! 

 

A few months ago, most South Africans had heard a little bit about Mixed Martial Artist Dricus “hulle weet nie wat one weet nie” du Plessis. Today Dricus, MMA and Ultimate Fight Championship are totally front of mind for most South Africans, after Dricus sensationally pipped loud-mouth American Sean Strickland in a highly anticipated UFC fight in Toronto. 

 

CorporateSport has secured Dricus du Plessis exclusively to join us at the breakfast, as we get to meet and celebrate the Champion and chat with him about his life, a tough career path, the controversial build-up to the Championship fight with plenty of verbal sparring, the fight itself and the whining from Strickland and his supporters after being beaten. 

 

Dricus has a strong relationship with the Springboks, so it’s going to be a tremendous morning for you and your clients, as we applaud rugby excellence and yet another South African Championship performance!

 

Matthew Pearce will again add his own astute rugby knowledge and inside perspective as the MC for the morning. Having interviewed Dricus a few times, Matthew says he is ready to put on his fighting gloves and chat with Dricus as well!
